What is Noumenonx? It’s a real word with part of my name (plus ‘x’), but I define it as the art of cinematic storytelling.
I always had an active imagination growing up and developed a sense of storytelling by watching countless hours of TV and films. I started my entertainment career in theatre as a Theatre Arts Technician. This job combined technical instruments with performance arts and I stage managed two shows. I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for college and earned a B.A. in Film and Digital Media. My education provided fundamental knowledge and skills in writing, directing, and editing films. I also worked as a Media Service Technician and Video Production Assistant for the Media Services department. This job got me well acquainted with audiovisual equipment.
I started my professional career at Stanford University where I worked as a TV Master Control Operator, Principal Studio Operator, and Digital Media Specialist for online education. I also developed as an independent filmmaker by co-founding Revelcade Entertainment to produce short films, music videos, and competed in film competitions. My works have been screened at film festivals across the U.S. I’m active in the San Francisco bay area film community and work with the Center for Asian American Media and on Scary Cow productions. I’m also an alum of the Bay Area Video Coalition’s Tech SF program. After leaving my day job, I joined I.A.T.S.E. Local 16 as an AV technician and started freelancing as a gaffer and media producer to become a full-time storyteller.
